We believe that effective school leadership is critical to school improvement and that our principals and headteachers have a pivotal role in setting direction, creating a positive school culture and supporting the collective staff body in securing sustainable improvement.
As a Trust, we support all our leaders in developing two critical leadership concepts: instructional/ pedagogical and transformational. We firmly believe that effective leadership will promote strong academic outcomes for pupils through placing teaching and learning at the heart of school improvement while also creating a positive school culture needed to foster sustainable improvement and within which both pupils and staff can flourish.
We are passionate about the value of providing a high-quality oracy education for our young people. Since beginning our Trust's oracy journey at Bishop Young Academy in 2018, we now have an active and ambitious oracy strategy that unites all our schools to become a talk-rich Trust. We are passionate about empowering leaders within each of our schools to develop an innovative oracy curriculum and to value the opportunity as teachers of talk to undertake evidence-based research on the impact of a high-quality oracy education on our young people.
